The non-governmental sector publishes statistical data that show a low quality of education in Georgia.

The number of students who pass final exams in schools is declining every year - 5 years ago they accounted for 84% of the total number of graduates, in 2018 - 77%.

The situation with teachers is not better: in the last 7 years only 25% of teachers have overcome the minimum level of competence in qualifying examinations.

According to the World Economic Forum, Georgia occupies the 106th place among 1,378 countries in terms of the quality of school education.

The non-governmental sector and education experts urge the Georgian government to carry out fundamental reforms in this area and express the hope that the recent dismissals of the major officials of the ministry is the beginning of systemic changes.
