Net profit of Georgian insurance companies down 14% in 9 months of 2021

As of September 30, 2021, the volume of premiums attracted  by Georgian insurance companies amounted to GEL 606.7 million the Insurance State Supervision Agency reports.

 

The sector's profit amounted to GEL 131.2 million , net profit - 31.9 million that is 14% less than in the same period of last year - as of September 30, 2020, the net profit of the insurance sector totaled GEL 44.3 million.

 

The total assets of insurance companies amounted to GEL 1 billion against  976.9 million in the same period of 2020.

 

17% of Georgians use health insurance services - in the reporting period the number of valid insurance policies reached  640,695.

 

7% of all registered cars are insured (102 594 policies).



GPI paid out the largest amount of compensation  (69.9 million), followed by Aldagi (41.2 million), Imedi L (36.5 million), TBC-Insurance (GEL 36 , 01 million

 

GPI leads  by a volume of attracted premiums, (GEL 112, 8 million), followed by Aldagi (GEL 96, 7 million), Imedi L (GEL 61, 5 million),  and Ardi (GEL 53, 12 million).

 

GPI  (69.9 million), followed by Aldagi (41.2 million), Imedi L (36.5 million), TBC-Insurance (GEL 36 , 01 million .

 

GPI leadsin the health insurance segment in terms of premiums with  GEL 70.2 million lari, followed by Imedi L (51.8 million) and Ardi (GEL 37.6 million).

 

In the auto insurance leads  TBC-Insurance (GEL 25.9 million), followed by Aldagi (GEL 24.25 million), and GPI (GEL 16.3 million).

 

As of September 30, 18 insurance companies were registered in Georgia.
