Georgia's NATO membership is not only a political choice, but a choice based on values, - Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze said at a joint press conference after meeting with the NATO Secretary General.
Bakhtadze thanked the Secretary General for supporting Georgia.
"First of all, I want to start with the fact that relations between Georgia and NATO have never been at such a high level. The visit of Mr. Secretary General stresses that NATO supports Georgia's membership in the Alliance and supports our country in this process. We appreciate that the Secretary General will also attend the NATO-Georgia exercises, which aim to further strengthen our defense capabilities and enhance interoperability with NATO. I would like to take a chance to thank all the countries participating in the exercises.
NATO membership is the most important priority of Georgia's foreign and security policy, and most of the Georgian society supports Georgia's efforts to become a full member of NATO. This is another proof that our choice is not only a political choice, but a choice based on values", - the Prime Minister of Georgia stated.
