The country is fully prepared
for the winter tourist season. Our main goal is the June events not to affect winter resorts. Mariam Kvrivishvili, head of
the National Tourism Administration, states.
“The National Tourism Administration has launched marketing campaigns to promote Georgia’s winter resorts in the target markets since September. We can boldly say that we are ready to host international visitors at our winter resorts. We've had a year full of challenges, and our main goal is that the processes caused by the June events would not affect the winter resorts. I mean, we've lost a large number of tourists due to the travel ban, a large bulk of which was the winter resorts visitors. So we are actively working with the private sector and are conducting an intensive marketing campaign. The Mountain Resorts Development Company takes care of the infrastructure and we can say that we are prepared both in terms of infrastructure and in terms of the product awareness. The private sector is ready as well, ”Mariam Kvrivishvili says.
