According to Chairman of the Bakery Products Association Malkhaz Dolidze, most bread producers received electricity bills with increased tariffs.
According to Malkhaz Dolidze, many large enterprises didn’t receive subsidies to cover an increase in tariffs because they were not properly informed about registration.
“Electricity tariff increased by 11 tetri but bread producers should receive a 5-tetri discount. The Ministry of Economy made a portal, but unfortunately, many producers did not fill in the application form to receive the subsidy. I appealed to the GNERC, the Ministry of Economy to help us with the issue, as the portal was available for only 14 days. The only way out is to open the portal so that everyone would register on it, he said.
Note: The increased tariffs on electricity will be subsidized by 50% for local food companies in 2021.
