Money transfers from Russia to Georgia dropped, from the EU on the rise

In June 2019, the volume of money transfers in Georgia amounted to $ 143.6 million (GEL 398.8 million), which is 6.3 percent more than in June 2018.

According to the National Bank, the largest amount of $ 34.78 million was transferred from Russia that is  11 percent less compared to the previous year.

$ 19.3 million moved  from Italy (+ 23.99 percent), $ 17 million - from Greece (+ 23.06 percent), $ 15.29 million - from the USA (+7.53 percent), $ 13.38 million - from Israel (+0.67 percent).



The volume of money transfers from EU countries increased by 25 percent in June.

In June $ 17.5 million were transferred from  Georgia abroad, which is 2.2 percent less than last  year.
