The banker Mamuka Khazaradze  who launched a new  political party spoke about the details of his relationship with the head of the ruling party, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili.

“My business-related dispute with Vano Chkhartishvili in the amount of $ 30 million was resolved with the participation of the prosecutor general and personally Bidzina Ivanishvili,” he explains.

Khazaradze notes  he promised not to divulge  details of the case, and did not intend to break his word, but Ivanishvili was the first to publicly spoke about this episode and he  considers himself free from moral obligations, and can openly talk about what happened.

“Vano Chkhartishvili filed a lawsuit against me demanding $ 30 million. He simultaneously filed several claims, all of them were resolved by one judge  in his favor. We made  a counter- lawsuit to the constitutional court, as it demanded the seizure of property after the court of first instance and left us no opportunity to protect our interests, ”he says.

Mamuka Khazaradze talked about the phone conversation with Bidzina Ivanishvili which lasted almost an hour, and the informal head of the country advised him to refuse a retaliatory claim and try to agree.

“I told him that I would not do this as I am not the sole owner of the bank - I am one of the shareholders and the chairman of the board of directors. The conversation was quite friendly, he told me that he did not force me to make a decision. I had a good reasons for this - it would be very difficult to explain to my foreign partners why we should abandon the only legal lever in this conflict, ”he notes.

In the banker’s words, after a while he decided  that it would be better to listen to Ivanishvili’s advice, he  convinced foreign shareholders to withdraw the lawsuit back.

“After that we had a meeting in Bidzina Ivanishvili’s house attended by the then general prosecutor Irakli Shotadze. As it turned out,  I got into a mini-trial, in which Bidzina Ivanishvili was a judge, the head of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, ”the banker stresses.

Khazaradze adds that  he came out of that meeting shocked, as he saw that Bidzina Ivanishvili was a mini-state that resolved  the conflict between businessmen.
