Japan imposes sanctions on 21 entities from Russia

Japan has added 21 Russian companies to the sanctions lists and has banned the exports of "chemical weapons-related" goods to Russia, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

A statement published on the Japanese Foreign Ministry's website says that the government has decided to ban exports to 21 Russian entities in the light of the current international situation related to Ukraine, for the purpose of Japan's contribution to the international efforts towards world peace, and with due account of the measures planned by major countries.

In addition, Japan bans the exports of chemical weapons-related goods and materials to Russia.

The sanctions have been imposed on the 46th Central Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, JSC Moselectronproject, NPO Etalon , JSC Mashpribortorg, and JSC Energia.

There are restrictions on the Alikhanov Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, LLC Automated Procurement System for State Defense Orders, PJSC Arzamas Temp-Avia Research and Production Enterprise, and some others.
