The Interagency Coordination Council once again calls on the population to adhere to the regulations as much as possible and to refrain from crowded gatherings. It also calls on both the public and private sectors to switch to remote working mode and advises the elderly to stay home as much as possible.
The meeting of the Coordination Council, which was chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili in a video conference format, discussed the increase in cases of infection, both around the world and in Georgia. It was noted that given the current picture, special importance is attached to the strict protection and enforcement of preventive measures.
The proper use of face masks and the protection of distance will be controlled more strictly, as well as holding crowded gatherings, including social events.
The meeting also discussed the importance of further intensification of the ongoing vaccination process in the country. It was noted that the country will receive new doses of vaccines in the near future. On the instructions and with the direct involvement of the Prime Minister, active negotiations are underway with vaccine manufacturers and partner countries to mobilize additional doses as soon as possible. At the same time, according to the vaccination expansion plan, the priority groups involved in vaccination will be gradually increased so that the vaccination process with Covid-19 vaccine can proceed as fast as possible.
