Imports of eggs and poultry meat down, exports up

Egg and poultry imports are declining in Georgia, while exports are increasing. According to the National Statistics Office, in January-August 2021 Georgia imported 7,588 million eggs (USD 207.4 thousand) against  22,788 million (USD1 ,854 million) in the same period of 2020. In the first 8 months of the current  year the country exported 3,743 million pieces (USD 851.6 thousand) against 3,646 million (USD 690.5 thousand) in the same period of 2020.

Apart from that, 35,757 tons (USD 42,202 million) of chicken meat was imported to Georgia in 8 months of 2020, compared to 31,517 tons (USD 36,774 million) in the same period of 2021.

In January-August 2020 Georgia exported 5,243 tons ($ 5.739 million) of chicken meat, in 2021 - 5,805 tons ($ 6.351 million).

Czech Republic - 5,400 million pieces

Turkey - 1 098 million pieces

Hungary - 602 thousand pieces

Netherlands - 302 thousand pieces

Russia - 180 thousand pieces


This year Georgia has carried out exports of eggs (3.743 million pieces) only to Azerbaijan.
