This year the average monthly cost of a health insurance package was 51.1 GEL per month against 47 GEL per month in 2020.
According to the Insurance State Supervision Service, in 2021 a total of 635,876, people took out private medical insurance that is 17% of Georgia’s population.
Compared to the previous year, the number of insured persons increased by 28,656, or 4.5%, compared to 2019, their number increased by 55,876 or 9%.
GPI Holding ranks first in the health insurance market with 29% of raised premiums followed by "Imedi L" with 21%, "Ardi" is the third with 14% of raised premiums, "Insurance Group" - 7% share, "PSP Insurance" a 6% share, the rest market players account for 23% of the total raised premiums.
