On the initiative of Prime Minister Irakli
Gharibashvili, the Georgian government set up the Interagency Council for Development and
Reform to work out the country’s ten-year
development plan.
According to the Governmental Administration, the Interagency Council was set up to effectively respond to the challenges facing the country and will be headed by the PM.
"Members of the Development and Reform Council will be ministers, MPs and other officials. The Development and Reform Council is authorized to set up working groups and subgroups, as well as, if necessary, invite representatives of other agencies or specialists, experts and representatives of the private sector.
The goal of the Development and Reform Council is to submit a preliminary document of the ten-year development plan to the Government of Georgia no later than May 31, 2021.
