Georgia’s wine exports up 11% in January-October 2019

In January-October 2019, Georgia exported 75.6 million bottles of wine to 53 countries, which is 11% more than in the same period in 2018.

Exports amounted to $ 195 million which is 20% more than in the same period of 2018.

Despite the growth in sales in various countries, five largest importers of Georgian wine have not changed for many years. In the reporting period Russia remarkably leads (21 372 581), then Ukraine (8 306 807), China (6 060 265), Poland ( 3 225 982) and Kazakhstan (2 958 618).

302 companies are engaged in wine export from Georgia.


Apart from that, 23.8 million bottles of brandy worth $ 50.8 million were exported to 23 countries, which is 52% more than in the same period of 2018. In monetary terms, exports amounted to 50.8 million dollars, which is 58% more than in the same period in 2018.

In the reporting period Georgia  exported 521,700 bottles of vodka to 27 countries which is 62% more than in the same period of 2018. In monetary terms, exports amounted to $ 1.5 million which is 58% more than in 10 months of 2018. 

The total export of wine, brandy and vodka amounted to $ 284 million in the reporting period which is 12% more than in 10 months of 2018.
