Georgia’s wine exports up 10% in January-November 2019

In January-October 2019, 86 million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to 53 countries which is 10% more than in the same period of 2018.

In monetary terms, exports amounted to $ 220 million which is 20% more than in the same period of 2018.

Despite the growth in sales in various countries, the top five of the largest importers has not changed for many years. In the reporting period Russia leads with  53.9 million bottles  followed by Ukraine (8.3 million), China (6, 3 million), Poland (3, 7 million).

323 companies are engaged in wine exports from Georgia.


Apart from that, Georgia exported  24.8 million bottles of brandy to 24 countries which is 60% more than in the same period of 2018. In monetary terms, exports amounted to $ 60.7 million, which is 63% more than in the same period of 2018.

Exports of wine, brandy and vodka amounted to $ 325 million in the reporting period which is 15% more than in 11 months of 2018.
