Georgia’s FDI up 13.7%

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Office, Georgia’s FDI amounted to $ 417.3 million in Q3, 2019 which is 13.7 percent more than in the third quarter of 2018.

Among  the largest direct investor countries in the third quarter of 2019 are the United Kingdom with 18.8 percent, Netherlands with 16.4 percent and Turkey with 10.3 percent.

According to Sakstat preliminary data, the share of the three largest sectors (in terms of foreign direct investment) amounted to 45.7 percent in the third quarter of 2019. The largest amount of $ 96.0 million was carried out  in the financial sector which is 23.0 percent of the total FDI. In second place is the processing sector with 49.3 million while the hotel and restaurant sector with  $ 45.7 million is the third.
