Georgia’s exports to the CIS countries up 24 pc, to the EU - by 25 pc

The National Statistical Office reports that  in January-August 2019, export from Georgia amounted to $ 2 411.6 million that is  12.4 percent more  than in the same period of last year.

According to Sakstat, in January-August  2019, goods worth  $ 1 274.0 million were exported from Georgia to the CIS countries which is 24.2 percent more than in the previous year and makes 52.8 percent of the country's total exports.

In eight  months, exports to the EU countries amounted to $ 571.1 million which is 25.3 percent more than in the same period of the previous year and 23.7 percent of the country's total exports.

The top ten exporting countries include Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Turkey, Romania, China, the US and Uzbekistan.


Exports are led by  copper ores and concentrates followed by vehicles, ferroalloys. The top five export products include medicines and wine.
