Georgia’s economy shrinks at 16.6% pace in April

The estimated real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in April  2020 declined by 16.6% compared with the previous year. 

 

In April  2020 the estimated real growth was negative   almost in all sectors, except for mining and quarrying .



Exports of goods fell by 28%, while imports decreased by 39%. The decline was observed  in terms of enterprise registration. According to Sakstat director, a total of 307 enterprises were registered in April, which is 93% less compared to the same period of the last year.
