Georgia’s business turnover up 20.7% in 2018

Large businesses account for 49.5% of the turnover, medium-sized - 21.4% and small - 29.1%. In terms of the product output and services provision, large business accounts for 40.4%, the medium-sized - 26.6% and small 33%.

The total product output and rendered services increased by 11.6% compared to 2017 and amounted to GEL 56.7 billion.

The total number of employees working in the business sector amounted to 734,200 in 2018 that is 3, 7% more than in 2017. 33, 1% are employed in the large business, 21. 8% - in the medium-sized and 45, 1% - in  small.

Employee  expenses amounted to GEL 9 billion that is 12.4% more than in 2017. The average salary in the business sector amounted to GEL 1 101 per month which is GEL 81 more than in 2017.  In large business  the average salary reaches GEL 1 224, in the medium-sized-  GEL 1 276, in small business - GEL 892 per month.


Trade accounts for 43.2% of the turnover, leisure and entertainment - 16,1%, industry - 10, 6%,  construction-  8,3%.

Tbilisi accounts for 73.8% of the total business turnover.
