Georgia’s annual inflation stood at 6.1 percent in March

According to the National Statistical Office, Georgia’s inflation stood at  0.7 percent in March 2020, annual inflation made 6.1 percent.

Sakstat reports that fruit and grapes prices went up by 29.7 annually. Prices for cheese, milk and eggs rose 18.9 percent.

In March sugar, jam and other sweets rose in price by 14.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, meat and meat products – by 14.7 percent; vegetables and gourds – by 12.5 percent; mineral and spring water, non-alcoholic beverages and natural juices – by 10.2 percent; oil and fat - 9.1 percent; fish - 8.0 percent; bread and bread products – by  7.0 percent; coffee, tea and cocoa -  by 5.4 percent.

Sakstat reports that a 10.3% price hike was recorded for public catering.


Compared to the same period of the previous year, the price for overnight services decreased by 2.1 percent.
