According to the head of Georgian Wheat and Bread Producers Association Levan Silagava, price hikes on bread are excluded as  an increase in the price of flour is not expected and  there is no reason for the rise in price for bread.

“In any case, flour importers have some stocks that allow for some time to keep prices even if flour rises in price. As for the current situation, now we see a slight improvement in comparison with December 2018 when bread price increased significantly. Producers are interested in keeping prices,” Levan Silagava explains.

Silagava believes  the country should have  a mechanism that allows to calmly overcome the crisis that happens from time to time.
