January-October 2019 Georgian Railway transported 64 000 TEU containers
and container turnover hit
record high that is 34% more compared to the same period of 2018
and 100% more compared to the same period of 2016.
Excluding crude oil, Georgian Railway transported 8.57 million tons of cargoes
in January-October 2019 that is 7% more compared to the same period of 2018.
In previous years Georgian Railway mainly transported cereals, crude oil, ores,
and other goods, but today the ratio of processed products is growing in
container transportation volume.
As to monthly report, Georgian Railway recorded a major turnover in October,
i.e. more than 1 million tons of cargoes that is 825 000 tons more than in the same period of 2018.
