Georgian banks’ assets stood at 60.6 billion

As of January 1, 2022, the size of the Georgian banking sector reached GEL 60,568,300,000. Assets increased by about GEL 1 billion compared to last month.

A volume of deposits, as of January 1, 2022, amounted to GEL 37,161,246,000 that  is 3.92% (GEL 1.4 billion) more than on December 1, 2021.

Georgian banks lend the country’s economy in the amount of  GEL 41,038,598,000. Compared to November 2021, this amount increased by GEL 1.6 billion in December.

According to preliminary data for December 2021, the capital reserves of commercial banks amounted to GEL 1,240,895,000, while retained earnings totaled GEL 5,462,450,000.
