Georgia will restore air communication with various countries approximately in February.
"Flights will be resumed. I cannot specify the exact date, but most likely, the air traffic restoration will begin in February. But this does not mean that foreign citizens ‘ entry will be uncontrolled and chaotic. The process will be controlled with mandatory testing, presentation of a vaccination certificate, etc."- the Minister of Economy Natia Turnava says.
According to Turnava, restoration of regular flights is the first hope in the way that the tourism sector will be reopened.
Regular flights between Georgia and the rest of the world were interrupted on March 21 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Currently, only charter flights to several European countries are operated.
