Georgia sees a decline in aviation oil imports

The Union of Oil Products Importers estimates the oil products market. In October 2020 aviation oil imports amounted to 4.4 thousand tons, which is 2.3 thousand tons or 109.5% more than in the same period of last year (2,1 thousand tons).

According to the countries, in October 2020  77.3% of  aviation oil was  imported from Turkmenistan (3.4 thousand tons) and 22,7% (1.0 thousand tons) from Turkey.

Apart from that, in January-October imports of aviation oil amounted to 47.5 thousand tons that is 35.5 thousand tons or 42.8% less than in the same period of last year (83.0 thousand tons).

In January-October, 79.2% (37.6 thousand tons) of aviation oil imports was imported from Turkmenistan, 16.2% (7.7 thousand tons) - from Turkey, 4.6% (2.2 thousand tons) - from Romania.


In October 2020, the import of petroleum bitumen in Georgia amounted to 14.6 thousand tons that is 3.0 thousand tons or 17.0% less than in September (17.6 thousand tons) and 5.2 thousand tons or 26.3 % less compared to the same period of last year (19.8 thousand tons).

Of this, 78.8% (11.5 thousand tons) of imports accounted for  the Republic of Azerbaijan, 19.9% ​​(2.9 thousand tons) - from Iraq, 1.4% (0.2 thousand tons) - from Turkey.

Imports of petroleum bitumen in January-October amounted to 105.1 thousand tons that is 45.2 thousand tons or 30.1% less than in the same period of last year (150.3 thousand tons).


Of this, 62.5% (65.7 thousand tons) of imports were carried out  from Azerbaijan followed by Iraq - 23.9% (25.1 thousand tons), Islamic Republic of Iran - 7.2% (7.6 thousand tons), Russia - 3.0% (3.2 thousand tons), Turkey - 2 , 1% (2.2 thousand tons), Armenia - 0.9% (0.9 thousand tons), United Arab Emirates - 0.2% (0.2 thousand tons); Albania - 0.2% (0.2 thousand tons).

The decline in imports of aviation oil is caused by the suspension of flights due to COVID-19 outbreak.
