According to Irina
Milorava, Chair of the
Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), it is very difficult to forecast
the effect of the national currency’s collapse on energy tariffs and a rise in gas prices for
the population .
“The exchange rate of
the national currency is definitely very important, but in December the tariff will
be revised as planned at the end of each
year regardless the national currency’s rate and other factors affecting the tariff,” she explains.
In Milorava’s words, the tariff
is a complex issue and is set considering many factors, including a volume of

According to Irina Milorava, last
year gas prices for the population were not raised due to a purchase tariff cuts.
