Galt & Taggart expects growth in tourism revenues.
According to Lasha Kavtaradze, an economist at Galt & Taggart, the tourism revenues is expected to reach $ 1.2 billion in 2021; if this prediction come true, the country will receive about 37% of the 2019 figure (3.2 billion) from tourism.
"Increasing tourist flows and revenues have been observed since March. in March the income from tourism amounted to 30 million, in April - 50 million, in May we expect the income from tourism will reach 70 million, and in June after the opening of the land borders the revenue generated through tourism industry will total more than $ 100 million, "- Lasha Kavtaradze notes.
Kavtaradze adds that if the vaccination rate of the last days is maintained, 30% of the population will be vaccinated by the end of the year that will help the tourism sector recover and creates positive expectations.
