Handy is the first Georgian brand to offer wooden wristwatches will be opened in the center in the Georgian capital on Leselidze Street at the end of the month. The brand has been operating in the Georgian market for 3 years. The authors of the idea, 26-year-old Sopho Gurasashvili and Nika Gigaya, presented the first models at the Innovation and Technology Agency exhibition, which attracted much interest and soon turned into business.
Sopho Gurasashvili says in an interview with "Commersant" that the brand's first store will open in a tourist-active area, as foreign customers showed big interest in the wooden watches.
“We have our own workshop in Tbilisi, bought equipment, we have two watchmakers, two tailors and a designer who is my husband Nika Gigaya . All the watches are of our own design. The prices are tailored to the Georgian market and can be purchased online, we also take orders from abroad. At the first stage we will sold 30 models, "- Handy founder says.
The company uses different types of wood - walnut, beech and blackwood to make watches as well as Turkish leather made in accordance with the Italian technology. In total we invested GEL 30,000 to purchase the equipment and resources to create the watches.
The company will expand rage with various accessories in the future but as the founders say, will still focus on wood.
