Despite the construction sector is facing great challenges due to the COVID-19 outbreak, large Georgian construction companies continue to work.

The company Transmsheni is involved in 5 projects which are being carried out  without any changes.

According to the manager of the State Procurement Agency  Giorgi Tabatadze, there is no need to stop work as the market does not face shortage of building materials, and even in this case the company has a sufficient reserve.

“We are working on an anti-crisis plan and the devaluation of the lari is the main problem which creates problems for all construction companies. Most of the materials we use are imported and that’s why we  depend on the lari rate, ” Tabatadze notes.

Anagi continues to work and as the  company director Gogi Gugava says, they don’t face any problems with the procurement of building materials, and the devaluation of the national currency also does not create serious difficulties.

“We are working as usual and our activity in the future depends on the situation in the country, in particular, on the supply of materials and on the customer demand. In the current situation a real prediction is not possible,” he notes.
