According to Sakstat preliminary data, by the end of the third quarter of 2019 cattle numbers decreased by 2.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 902.1 thousand.

The total number of sheep and goats decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period of last year and amounted to 813.6 thousand. The number of pigs amounted to 225.4 thousand, which is 8.8 percent less than in the previous year, while the number of poultry stock decreased by 3.7 percent to 9.1 million.

According to preliminary data, in the third quarter of 2019, 160.3 million liters of milk was produced., which is 4.8 percent less than in the previous year. Meat production amounted to 14.5 thousand tonnes  that is 3.3 percent less than in the corresponding period of 2018.


In the reporting period, 146.2 million eggs were produced, which is 5.1 percent less than last year.
