The turnover of the business sector in Q4, 2020 increased by 2.1 percent compared to the same period of last year and amounted to GEL 32.0 billion – the National Statistical Office reports.
A downward trend is observed in the business sector output. In the fourth quarter of 2020, its volume was estimated at GEL 12.4 billion which is 7.3 percent less than in the same period of last year:
In the fourth quarter of 2020 large businesses accounts for 60.9 percent of total turnover, medium-sized businesses - 17.1 percent and small businesses - 22.0 percent.
The situation is slightly different in the total output: large businesses account for 40.6 percent of the total output, medium-sized - 27.8 percent, and small businesses - 31.7 percent.
Total purchases of goods and services by enterprises in Q4, 2020 amounted to GEL 18.0 billion (compared to the corresponding period of last year
6.6 percent less), and purchases of goods and services for resale - GEL 11.0 billion. (6.0 percent less than in the same period last year).
41.2 percent are employed in the large business, 22.8 percent in the medium-sized businesses and 36.0 percent - in small businesses.
The total number of employees was 609.0 thousand people (9.6 percent
less than in the same period last year).
