Tamaz Daushvili, CEO of Dio, believes that the Finance Minister is partially
right when he says that Georgia has the best business climate in the past 25
years, but this is only one side of the coin.
“Business is not under pressure
today, although it is difficult to say for sure - such facts probably take
place but they are not made public because of fear, and maybe after the change
of power they will become known. From a legal point of view, the situation of
business has improved, but from the economic point of view, it has worsened, ” the businessman says.
According to him, business is
now at a lower level of motivation than before.
“The country is not
developing, investments are not pouring, a lot should be changed in this regard. The government is
not active enough that led to a
reduction in investment, weak economic growth and the national currency’s
collapse. For this reason the business can’t plan anything. The studies show that business
expectations are mostly negative, ” Tamaz Daushvili explains.
In Daushvili’s opinion, the country needs very effective and efficient
measures to improve the economy.
“We should do everything to attract foreign investment in the shortest
possible time that will have a positive impact on the economy and the national
currency,” the businessman notes.
