The issue of subsidizing wheat
imports has become topical in Georgia due
to the rise in grain prices on the global markets.
Prices on the global markets have increased on average by 30% since September and the government should take measures to maintain present prices.
“We had a meeting with the Prime Minister who said if wheat and flour prices continue growing on the international market causing price hikes in Georgia, the government will have to take measures to curb prices, ” President of the Association Levan Silagava notes.
