The first wave of cancellation of reservations in Batumi hotels started in March, and after the borders were closed and a pandemic was announced, the cancellations became  massive.

As of today, 42.9% of hotels in Batumi have canceled all reservations until July, 28.6% do not expect guests until August. 26.8% of hotels in Georgia’s main sea resort  do not have a single reservation.

The hotel owners believe the reservations that still remain will be canceled as well.

Cushman & Wakefield Georgia predicts that  the year 2020 will be very difficult for the Georgian hotel sector and both small hotels and large brand chains will not be able to handle  the crisis.

All this will leave  a large number of people employed in the hotel sector without work in 2020.
