A 3-km bypass road was opened in Bakuriani. The project was funded by the European Investment Fund in the amount of  GEL 6.3 million.

The Ministry of Infrastructure reports that concrete pavements, culverts, drainage systems, junctions, sidewalks and hiking trails were arranged.

Municipal Development Fund says that construction of bypass road is very important for the resort’s development. Due to lack of bypass road there were frequent traffic jams in Bakuriani, which hampered  comfortable and safe movement of tourists and locals.

The road construction began in June 2018 and completed in September.

Municipal Development Fund is involved in  eight  large infrastructure projects worth GEL 55 million in Bakuriani. The Fund builds multi-storey car parking on the road to Mitarbi and Kokhta ropeway, new two-storey police building. The Fund is set  to purchase up to 30 different types of special equipment for the resort of Bakuriani.
