As of May 2, 2021, 16.9% of the world's population has already received at least one vaccine dose that is 1.3 billion people.

Statistics show that in countries where most of the population has been vaccinated, mortality has decreased, the economy has opened and restrictions have been lifted.

One of the leaders in this regard is Israel, where 63% of the population was vaccinated. Before vaccination, daily cases of COVID-19 exceeded 9 000, the mortality rate - up to 70 per day. After the vaccination, the infection rate has decreased to several dozen per day, while the number dropped to 10-13 people per day.

All restrictions have been canceled, IMF forecasts that in 2021 Israel's economic growth will amount to 5%.

Vaccination rates are different in the countries, but almost everywhere the process is in full swing while Georgia is one of the few exceptions. Slightly more than 2% of the population received 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, no more than 0.5% are fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.

Along with strong anti-vaxx moods, large-scale vaccination is hampered by the lack of the drug in the required amount. 4 700 people have been vaccinated in Georgia, against  1200-1500 a month ago but this is not enough to catch up with the leading country.

Covid-19 death rates are lowering worldwide, in Georgia, on the contrary, they are growing - on May 10, 31 people died from coronavirus , the country lags  only 4 countries such as  Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary and Nepal.
