Marriott Brand, Luxury Collection hotel recreational complex is being built on the
area of 50,000 m2 on the Green Cape by Georgia's
Tourism Development Fund which is part of the Co-Investment Fund. Commersant
was told at the Fund that the total volume of investment reaches $ 70 million. the
construction of the frame is currently underway and the project is expected to
be completed in the first half of 2021.
The 135-room hotel will include a spa, outdoor and indoor pools, a fitness center, a restaurant, playgrounds and places for children's entertainment.
According to the fund, the hotel recreational complex is located close to the Batumi Botanical Garden and the hotel’s concept will be in full harmony with the Batumi Botanical Garden founded in 1892.
The project architect is Irakli Sharashidze, "Zimo" Ltd is involved in the complex construction.
The Co-Investment Fund says that as of November 2019, the project employs up to 100 people while another 400 locals will be employed after the project completion.
Commersant got interested in how much money Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Co-Investment Fund had paid for the land plot to build the complex and whether the trees in the area had been cut down.

In 2018, Transparency International Georgia examined the processes in the construction sector over the past decade. The study also included the information about the construction company Zimo Ltd.
In 2011-2016, Zimo Ltd made direct state purchases worth GEL 17.4 million and won contracts of GEL 83 million in e-tenders. In 2012, the owners of the company donated GEL 20,000 to the United National Movement. "ZIMO" is actively involved in transportation of Bidzina Ivanishvili's trees and perform the state procurement commitments with delay. In the last four years 65 changes have been made to 16 agreements signed between budget organizations and the company Zimo. 25 subsidiaries of Zimo-7, which won GEL 107 million contracts in e-tenders. One of the owners of the company Amiran Beridze donated GEL 10,000 to the Georgian Dream in 2017.
