According to the Georgian  Civil Aviation Agency, 40-48% of flights operated  during the pandemic will be restored in Georgia in the summer. Still, resumption of volumes of passenger air travel  will be dependent on the epidemiological situation both in Georgia and in the partner countries.

According to the head of the Agency Levan Karanadze, on average 180-190 flights will be carried out per week in 2021, during peak season - up to 290.

At the same time, the number of carriers operating in the Georgian aviation market will reduce by  33% compared with the pre-pandemic period - as of July 1, 2021  about  30 airlines will be actively operating in Georgia.

“The difference is obvious - before the pandemic in 2019, 45 airlines operated in Georgia, which performed  on average 460-470 flights per week, during peak season  - 590-600 flights. The air traffic will be resumed  if the epidemiological situation in the country does not worsen in the near future, ”the head of the Agency notes.
