Retail lending is 10 times more profitable for Bank of Georgia than business lending

Revenues of Bank of Georgia from business lending grew  2.7% (Y.Y). According to the NBG statistics, in 2017 the bank received 270 million (2016 - 263 million) interest revenues from retail loans increased  10-fold  which is  27% more than in the previous year.

In 2017, the bank received revenues in the amount  of 593 million from this segment (2016 - 467 million).

Total interest and non-interest income totaled GEL  1.235 billion , including GEL 229 million (2016 - 212 million; + 8% Y.Y) from commission and other services (loan issuance, approval, cashing out).


 As of January 1, Bank of Georgia issued loans worth GEL 7.2 billion (2016 - 6.2 billion) to physical and juridical persons which is  16.8% more compared with the last year. The lari portfolio increased by 52% (2017 - 3.023 billion, 2016 -1.990 billion), the currency portfolio grew  0.2% by 0.2% (2017 -4.212 billion; 2016 - 4.203 billion).
