WB Allocates Additional Finances Georgia’s Highway Improvement

The World Bank (WB) has allocated additional financial resources for East-West highway corridor improvement.

Government of Georgia and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)  have signed an agreement on Additional Financing for the  East-West Highway Corridor Improvement Project.

The document was signed by Minister of Finance Mamuka Bakhtadze and WB regional director for  South Caucasus Merci Tabon.

The 16.9mln EUR financial resource will be spent on remaking the two-line 11-kilometer section from Chumateleti to Khevi of East-West highway corridor into a four-lane highway.

Construction works will end in 2020.
